Born in Havana, Jorge González Buajasán first studied piano in Cuba before joining the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris in Hortense Cartier-Bresson's class. Laureate of numerous international competitions, he won First Prize and the Audience Prize at the KlavierOlymp competition in Bad Kissingen and the Coup de Cœur Prize from the Young Critics at the Clara Haskil Competition. He regularly performs as a soloist and in chamber music on major international stages and festivals.
A passionate chamber musician, he has been the pianist of the Zeliha Trio since 2018, with whom he recorded his first album for the Mirare label, released in November 2020. The recording was praised by Alfred Brendel, Menahem Pressler, and received “5 Diapasons”, “5 Stars” from Classica, and glowing reviews in The Strad and Gramophone magazines.
